CloudLinux OS — Complete Isolation

Security • OS Isolation

The operating system that turns shared hosting into a safe, stable environment. Every account is fully isolated — your resources, files and processes are invisible to other users.

About the technology

What is CloudLinux OS?

CloudLinux is a Linux operating system built specifically for shared hosting. Unlike a standard Linux server, CloudLinux adds a lightweight virtualization layer that fully isolates each account.

CageFS — Private file system

Every user operates within their own virtualized file system. Even if you share a server with other clients, they cannot see your files, processes or configurations.

LVE — Guaranteed resource limits

CPU, RAM, I/O and the number of processes are limited per account through LVE (Lightweight Virtual Environment). A neighbor consuming resources heavily cannot affect your performance.

MySQL Governor — Database control

Monitors and limits SQL queries that consume excessive CPU. Your site will not be affected by heavy queries from other users.

PHP Selector — PHP version per domain

Change the PHP version (5.6–8.5) independently per domain, directly from cPanel, without affecting other accounts on the server.

Everything that makes CloudLinux remarkable

Six integrated technologies working together to guarantee stability, security and performance on shared servers.

CageFS — Complete Isolation

Every account has its own virtualized file system. Your files, processes and configurations are invisible to any other user on the same server.

LVE — Guaranteed Resources

CPU, RAM, disk I/O and concurrent processes are guaranteed and allocated per account. No neighbor can consume your resources, regardless of their traffic or scripts.

PHP Selector (5.6–8.5)

Choose the PHP version per domain without affecting the server or other users. Upgrade instantly to PHP 8.5 or keep compatibility with an older version.

MySQL Governor

Monitors MySQL queries in real time. If a query consumes excessive CPU, it is limited automatically — without affecting the performance of your database.

Kernel Hardening

The Linux kernel modified by CloudLinux adds extra protections against security exploits and privilege escalation — an essential defense layer at the OS level.

Zero Noisy Neighbor

The classic shared-hosting problem — one site consuming all of the server's resources — is eliminated entirely through the LVE limits applied to each individual account.

Execution flow

How CageFS works

On every HTTP request, CloudLinux activates isolation within a few milliseconds — transparent to the user, essential for security.

1

Request received

The web server (Apache/Nginx) receives the HTTP request for your site and routes it to your PHP/Python process.

2

CageFS activated

CloudLinux places the process in an isolated CageFS environment — it sees only its own file system, not the server's real one.

3

LVE checks resources

The kernel verifies in real time that the process does not exceed the CPU, RAM and I/O limit allocated to your account through LVE.

4

Guaranteed response

The request is processed and the response returned to the user — with no interference from other accounts on the server.

LVE limits per hosting plan

Every Trustnet Solutions plan includes guaranteed CloudLinux resources. These are hard limits — unaffected by the activity of other accounts.

CageFS creates a virtualized copy of the Linux file system for each account. You only "see" your own files plus the necessary system binaries. You cannot access other users' files, cannot see their processes and cannot influence them in any way. If a neighboring account is compromised, the attacker cannot reach your data.

No — the CageFS overhead is negligible (under 1-2ms per request). On the contrary, CloudLinux improves perceived performance because it guarantees that your resources are not „stolen" by other users. You get consistent CPU, RAM and I/O, regardless of server activity.

Nothing from your perspective. Each account's LVE is completely independent. If a user reaches their CPU or RAM limit, their processes are throttled/stopped automatically — the server keeps running normally, and your account is not affected in any way.

Yes, CloudLinux OS is included in all Trustnet Solutions shared hosting plans — Starter, Classic, Advanced and Professional. It is a fundamental component of our infrastructure, not an optional add-on. The difference between plans lies in the LVE limits (CPU, RAM, I/O) allocated per account.

Hosting with CloudLinux included

All Trustnet Solutions plans include CloudLinux OS, CageFS, LVE and MySQL Governor. You benefit from complete isolation and guaranteed resources at no extra cost.

CloudLinux is installed and configured across our entire shared infrastructure. It requires no action on your part — it is active immediately after your account is created.
